Nothing wrong with celebrating the day at all. I wish we had a St. George’s Day like the rest of the U.K. with saints Patrick, David and Andrew.

However the insinuation that it is not allowed feeds into the fable that Englishness is not to be allowed (or on other occasions whiteness, straightness, maleness).

I missed the “Easter is banned” ones this year though I think.
