I watched ftn Quizcall last night

They had this puzzle, went on for an hour and nobody won so they revealed the answer:

TWO TIMES FIVE
17 + 33 - 4

Add all the numbers

The answer they gave was 513. WTF? How do you get 513 from that? I never understand these programmes.
