From "something I was told at the time"

was that the senior players were regularly annoyed by his immature and arrogant "look at me" behaviour which was ok when he was adding value to the teams efforts. However when that was mixed with loss of form it grated on them even more and affected team spirit. All the illness, family issues etc was a blind to him being a "what me? No I'm brilliant" bit of a immature arse. Shame as all this has probably lost the club around £10m+. Such is life with the new generation of snowflakes.
