I think it may be very personal to him (through work or his own age).

I am of a similar age but I don't feel that a 50th Celebration is really necessary.

The more something is achieved then the less the first becomes memorable (is it four promos since 2002?)

Additionally the reaper has gone through the class of 71/2 and those left are not as well-known and appreciated as the 59ers ("Let's have a big welcome for Clive Payne")

02 also throws up other anniversaries to consider (1902, 1962, 1982)

The club are damned if they do (waste of time/money, tinpot, why are we harking past to the past) and damned if they don't
