it's hard to see how the club can avoid making the same mistakes again.
We went up playing expansive football - our two most important players were the DM who protected the leaky defence and the creative midfielder who provided/scored a huge portion of the goals. They both left, and those two positions were not filled, while we spent a lot on other positions and even cover for those positions. Aware we couldnt hope to beat premier league teams with that same formation but without our best players, we then went up against the premier league's best using a different formation to the one we had used in virtually every game for the previous 4 years.
We got absolutely gubbed. A new system with worse players against the top teams in the world - an organisational clusterf**k.
There has been insufficient humility shown by anyone at the club, but particularly the Board, at why this went wrong. Delia wont sell despite knowing it's almost impossible to compete without a richer owner. Webber failed to fill the two most important positions. Farke lost his bottle again and was probably unable to coach a defence to the highest level - although hamstrung by the recruitment farrago.
Makes it harder to see them learning from the mistakes required to improve unfortunately.
