it's about what most people were thinking a year ago. the situation is absurd. the abject failure in Australia shouldve finished him off but for no reason i can see he lived to fight another day. And the writer is right, to say there is nobody better is ridiculous.

also, all sport is and rightly so imo based upon results. remember when alec stewart became captain? again the wrong captain. but why the hesitance to change? talk about past his sell by date. root is one of the best batsmen there has ever been but that doesnt make him captain material. it's embarrasing for all concerned and it needs to change now. not tomorow but today.
