and everyone got along. My adopted godfather worked there, he fled Idi Amin in the late 60s with his wife and ended up in the East end.
I just remember loads of big burly hard as f**king nails blokes. The boss was an absolute man mountain. Hands like f**king shovels and the kindest man you'd ever meet.
A couple of months before he died and 20 years after the business closed he tracked my old man down 100 miles away to thank him for his time working there and gave him an envelope with 3k in it.
He once told me "Stand up to bullies, and be nice to people"
