For now. Zelenskyy already softening up Ukrainians with his remarks about

Having to accept that NATO membership is probably not in their future.

Would expect he opposes it as it has been the narrative all along, Russia sends a few missiles into Kiev. NATO does nothing (which it really can’t anyway) and then Zelenskyy climbs down.

Peace deal agreed. Russian disinformation plan goes into overdrive pointing out that for all he posturing and shouting, Zelenskyy and NATO both failed Ukraine , new elections announced in which Zelenskyy allowed to participate but will lose out to Russian puppet.

Sanctions slowly stood down.

Petrol and energy prices drop a little bit but not dramatically. Oil companies make massive profits.

Everybody happy. Or at least everybody politicians care about.
