Once upon a time, in a land far away. There was a kingdom called Canary City. Canary City was ruled by Princess Delia and Prince Michael. Princess Delia had great wealth and she spent it in her kingdom. She wished to make her citizens happy. Prince Michael and Princess Delia placed their great wealth in the hands of their favoured knight Nigel, for it was him who had before brought success and happiness to Canary City. Princess Delia declared her trust in her knight, and gave him gold to spend to bring further wealth and a return to the promised land.
Knight Nigel was happy to have his Princesses favour. He spent his gold on new knights to deliver great victories. His new knights were keen to impress but they did not please the citizens of Canary City. The Citizens saw the pots of gold and the prizes that success would bring. The new knights needed to win their battles, but they were not able as they did not have the skills that were expected of them.
The citizens of Canary City were much upset with their knights in battle. Princess Delia looked on as her chosen one failed again and again. Many days in battle away from Canary City were left in defeat. Knight Nigel told the citizens that the knights were good in battle, but did not have the luck they deserved. Princess Delia and Prince Michael accepted their knight's apology, but the citizens did not. They said that the chosen knights were unwisely recruited and that knight Nigel was unable to lead in battle.
In the last battle of the campaign, Princess Delia sent her favoured leige on to the field to rally her troops and to quell the disquiet among her citizens. There was much unrest in Canary City as the leige and knight Nigel again brought defeat. The citizens were very displeased in their knight Nigel and his troops. The success that money should have brought to them was wasted. Their campaign was ended and Canary City was disappointed.
Knight Nigel after another defeat spoke to his people. He told the citizens that they were not worthy. The citizens told him the same. "You spent our gold, and won too few battles" they said. Princess Delia was silent in her castle. And she slept soundly dreaming of success for her knight Nigel as the citizens assembled in protest outside demanding a change......
