that whilst letting losse the info on who we are trying to sign or talking to might mean us "loosing the edge on the deal" - also it would lead to negative and disgruntled fans if we were unbale to sign that person......

best off all round from a PR point of veiw that NCFC only announce to the public (us!) the positive news when we actually clinch a player!!!
