I always think the likes of Charlton/Bolton/Portsmouth or teams of that ilk are one bad appointment of manager away from relegation. Their current managers fit their cultures - a new manager is always likely to want to impose his own personality on the team and change it. Alain Perrin almost took Pompey down - and the sacking was timed superbly in my opinion as the team he was building was shocking! Likewise, a new boss at Bolton would change what's worked for them, and probably almost take them down. Which is why I think if Charlton get the wrong manager - they are heading first class back to the Championship.
