I'm not keen on this sweeping two different trophies into one category - the FA Cup is not the same as the trophy the women compete for, or the Women's Trophy isn't the same as the one the men compete for.
I don't see this as a particularly effective way to make women's sport more equal; it's flawed and isn't going to win too many supporters over, when the history of the Men's FA Cup is so ingrained in football supporters it diminishes both by making out that it's one and the same thing.
tbh I feel similar when talking about 'most capped players'. This feels like equality through the back door, and I don't believe it's what feminists have fought for. It's not damaging to have specific competitions and trophies by gender in the same way that we have age specific competitions.
Maybe one day it will all be as one, but I actually don't think we've got the approach right yet.
