From today's EDP...
?This season's 'lap of dis-honour' after the Wolves game will be a burden to the fans of Norwich City Football Club.
?If we get a result against Wolves, we would suggest that those who want Worthy out either leave the stadium or remain silent. Empty spaces and/or silence will be a good indicator to the manager, players and board to show how much of a disappointment this season has been.
** Here's the kicker **
"Those in favour of Worthington staying will naturally stay behind, applaud a poor season and show their support. If those who need to get anger of their chest wish to remain and make themselves heard, then feel free to do so - but this may cause friction between fans. The club may enjoy this as it would take the attention away from a poor season and divert it to anger between sections of fans."
I would suggest that there will be a fair number of people there that are not in support of the manager, but wish to show their support for the team and reinforce the confidence they have in them to do better next season.
Leave - yes, but does anyone want to bet that it won't stay silent; there will be boos and catcalls to those applauding. Any protest of this sort will only further the rift between fans and players, fans and management, fans and board and even fans and fans.
