“… Not much earlier, Farke had told Cantwell he had been dropped for the game, with Kieran Dowell getting his first Premier League start in his place — a decision Farke later confirmed was due to Dowell’s quality in training during the previous international break.

Cantwell came on in Dowell’s place for the final 30 minutes. Arsenal scored the only goal of the game four minutes later.

Since the Everton game, Cantwell’s absences have come down to Farke taking a dislike to a number of missed training sessions.

Cantwell was available for Norwich’s trip to Burnley but Farke deemed him not ready to return. There were then missed sessions due to an achilles complaint ahead of the goalless draw at home to Brighton, while Farke declared that a back issue was why Cantwell had not completed a full week of training leading up to Sunday’s 2-1 Carrow Road defeat by Leeds.

Farke has always placed great emphasis on training regularly and training well, so it is unsurprising when absences from Colney eventually equate to absence from his team.

Norwich’s head coach has since stated Cantwell will only be considered available for a Premier League return to action once he completes two full weeks of training.”

Plus other stuff before and after that excerpt but think it covers everything around selection/training beyond the initial ‘personal reasons’.
