would talk on the phone. He’d either heard it on the radio, watched MOTD or even recently I’d got him onto Hesgoal (which he found highly amusing “apparently there are Asian ladies waiting for me in the North Tuddenham area” he’d say)
He’d often describe the match in more detail than I could and I’d been there!
