Indeed, although it was also an RAF (officially, but USAF really) base and was closed down

immediately after the war and never used for civil use.
One interesting conversation about developing a new Norwich Airport back in the early 60s was to use Tibenham because of it's long runway and the fact that it served a larger catchment area to the south of Norwich.
Horsham St Faith was still being used by the RAF with Javelins and was decommissioned in about 1963 I think.
It's main development came about through companies like Rig Air which later became Air Anglia and then AirUk and then KLMUK !
