supply hasn't changed (unless you think the HGV driver shortage is major)

its entirely been an issue of demand.

right now, demand to buy should be a bit lower than normal (cos some people bought earlier)

but clearly it isnt, cos people are still buying more than normal (even tho some people must have unusually full tanks and buying less - others are making up for that)

if pumps have run dry, then it just tells you that people are still buying more than they normally would.
