Watching our game at the weekend and then Palace v Brighton last night

I was struck by how infrequently our midfielders and wing backs make a forward run with the ball in comparison to both those sides. So rarely does it seem that we take a player on.

In particular I'm thinking of Rupp, PLM, and McLean, Normann to a degree too but obviously we've seen less of him.

The wing backs do make runs, but it seems to invariably end with them cutting back inside and passing back towards the halfway line.

This must make us far easier to press if the opposition know that our player will always opt to pass rather than run.
