Is the real, uncomfortable truth that we won't ever compete in the PL

Until we have people on the board who can invest the amount of money we need in order to buy and pay players all over the pitch that are Premier League quality.
And we all know what that will require.
Sorry if that upsets many of you. But I am afraid that is the truth. The self funding model, while laudible has failed if we are relegated this season.
But whats the point in going up and down, up and down, up and down............. "Oh! but we will have a great promotion season every other year!" I hear many of you crying.
