What's been missing is:
- a central midfielder (or midfielders) who harrasses and can break up opposition play and lay off a simple ball to wingers or more creative midfielder and the occasional through ball to the strikers
- A proper right winger to take on defenders and cross the ball; to take the pressure off Hucks as the only creative force if nothing else.
Central defence and right back might also need some bolstering, but part of our problems in defence is not having a midfield to collect the ball from defence and harrass when the opposition has the ball.
If hoofball is the tactic of the future then we do need a hard bastard up front, but don't expect it to be pretty or to yield consistent results - a couple of decent bruiser centre backs can easily cope with that.
