if we played out from the back like we did 2+ years ago it would be fine

but we don't have the players for it any more. It worked with Godfrey, Trybull and Leitner because they were almost like specialists at playing out from the back. Now it's too slow, too many floated passes, too many touches to get the ball under control, and too may midfielders who won't turn and take the risk to progress the ball up the pitch.
