I imagine they only will if things get quite a bit worse than they are now. And remember that even now, nearly a thousand people are dying every week.

Of course if it does get even worse than now and the government does have to do something, we'll then get the same old suspects claiming it's all a hoax or the numbers are made up or something. We know how this goes.
