I started this with it's actually quite simple - One not written by Paul Simon...

"The Sun is Shining" - a beautiful melody perfect harmonies soothing lyrics until "Death comes in a Blinding Flash..." still in the perfect harmony and beautiful melody in a song about nuclear destruction.

Then I thought but what about "Wednesday Morning 3 a.m."? "Kathy's song"? "A poem on the Underground wall"? or "The Dangling conversation"with my favourite line "we note our place with bookmarkers, which measure what we've lost"? "He was my Brother"? or "Silent Night/The Nine O'clock news"

And that's before you dig into the standards so the answer is actually yes it is difficult to pick the best Simon and Garfunkel song!

There's a great story about Kathy who was Paul Simon's Girlfriend who now lives in Wales and astounded her grandkids when she told them that several of his songs are dedicated to her.
