You know Jay's character from the Inbetweeners? How many people like that have you

Encountered in life?

I know Jay is wildly exaggerated, but there are lots of people like him who lie on a daily basis, like they are role playing a fantasy to escape their real life.

I've just realised im sat next to a Jay cos he's dropped a "whopper"

Other day he was down because he had a £500 bill meaning hes skint for a month, straight after putting a bond down to rent a flat.

Then yesterday he was telling the group he nearly has enough for a deposit on a house in the city centre. (£300/400k, 10% deposit 30-40k, skint ?)

It then had me questioning every convo we've had. Me stating I want to get a funko pop, him "I've got nearly 300 boxed, il send you a picture"
Me "I'm gonna watch a guy build a PC on twitch later"
Him "oh yeah i used to stream"

I've only just realised he's probably been lying to me about 50%+ of the time I've known him.
