Daniel Farke addresses the media ahead of our Carabao Cup second round tie against AFC Bournemouth tomorrow evening.
----------------------------------------------------------------
DF: It is a good game and a tough test for us. AFC Bournemouth have played many years in the Premier League level and had a good chance to get promoted back to the Premier League level last season. They have started the season well. They are not sitting top of the league but they are unbeaten.
DF: (Billy Gimour) Not to prove Chelsea or Tomas Tuchel wrong because they believe in him. They choose a club that suits his style. It was a top decision and we are all happy that we have Billy. He have to praise character, his workrate and his attitude. He reminds me of Oliver Skipp. They are different styles but he has been rock solid so far. He has ways he can improve but he has not played full 90 minutes at this level.
DF: (Transfer window rumours) No comments on any rumours. I will no comment on any names, so I have nothing to add.
DF: (Brandon Williams) We are really happy that we have him. He is a young player full of potential who has proved himself at this level. We are always a bit careful with the young players, but we are fully convinced of his strengths. It was quite important to bring another full-back in because we only had one natural left back in Dimitris Giannoulis. He will be available for the cup game and we will have a late decision on him if he is in the game day squad for tomorrow
DF: Placheta will not be available. He will be back after the international break, but he has missed the last two weeks and he won't be available. We are more positive with Christoph Zimmermann and we believe that he will be available for tomorrow.
DF: (Comments from pundits) I am not frustrated. This is part of the business. I don't expect the pundits to priase us when we lose 5-0. It will be the other around when we win, we will probably praised a bit too much. I was also critical of the performance on Saurday, because it is important not to hide a lie from this fact but you have to be balanced. .
DF: (Brandon Williams). He is a confident young guy and he is competitive. He is brave. He has also 20 appearances for Manchester United so this tells you about his character and his potential, but I don't expect him now to lead our lines and be our leader. We don't put too much pressure on him. He just has to perform when he gets the nod. The competition is strong. He can play both full back positions. It is not that Brandon will come in and wear the captain's armband after two days. We don't put too much pressure on him.
DF: (Christos Tzolis) He is an unbelievable interesting player. he has the potential to be one day the best winger's in the world. There are many skills that we like about him. It is never a guarantee though. We have to be careful with him. Sometimes they need time to adapt. Christos is a project that helps us in mid and long term. I don't put too much pressure or too much expectation on him. It could be that he is involved in a few minutes tomorrow.
DF: I am a deep believer in cup competitions because I want to go into the next round but I will need to rotate for two reasons. One we have a deep squad and I want to use this and two we had a disruptive pre-season. When you don't have a proper pre-season to play every three or four days is a bit difficult. You need more time to recover and to find their rhythm. It will be too big of an ask to ask those players to play tomorrow. I think we have to take the risk to take a few more changes than we would like.
DF: I am not in this situation to have to defend ourselves. I also don't have to lift the mood. My players are not stupid we played Liverpool, who had a full pre-season and top pre-season games and we played for 65 minutes on the same level. They deserved to win this game but it was not that they were way better than us. Then we played the Champions of England. We have played against two top sides in World football. So we have to judge it that way.
DF: I am not sure if it was not the real Norwich in the last games if I am honest with you. We are a self-funding club though. We need to sell one of our best players Emi Buendia to bring six players in. It would be easier if we buy a left back for £50m or two centre backs for £50m. If we are too concerned with a 5-0 win at Manchester City then we should not play at this level, we should stay at Championship level and congrtul;ate ourselves every week. The Premier League is a spring and it is not important where we are after two games against Liverpool and Manchester City.
DF: (Brandon Williams) We are convinced of his potential and his bravery. We are convinced that he will help us in this position, left back, because we only have one natural player in this position in Dimitris Giannoulis. We are convinced he will help us but there is no guarantee because there is competition in these places at left back Dimitris Giannoulis at left back and Max Aarons and Bali Mumba at right back.
DF: We want to win the game and each and every win helps us. It is good for the self-confidence, but I will perhaps rotate a bit more than I would normally do for a cup game. I will do this for rest for some players and give some game time to players who are not at the level for a Premier League game yet.
DF: (Christos Tzolis). I have to be careful because the mood can change very quickly. I have to make sure that when I bring a player in, if he is not ready or he is not sharp, people can be on his shoulder. This is okay for a player like Tim Krul or Grant Hanley because they can handle it but it is more difficult for a younger player.
DF: (National media) For me it is not important at all if someone talks about us and they have not done their research. If someone says we don't have the right to play in the Premier League, we got 97 points in the Championship last season. Who else has done this? We earned our right to play at Premier League. We are a self-funding club and we have earned more money than any club in Western Europe. I am not annoyed because sometimes you have to provoke to sell your news.
DF: We are the only self funding club at this level and we will be the underdog in each and every game. People quite like the underdog. We know that we are the underdog but we don't try to make more out of us than we are. I am pretty sure, that in the end, this team will have done everyone proud who is connected with the yellow shirt.
