I think it IS about who the players are.

Farke's coaching approach hasn't changed. I think he and his staff are working as hard as ever.

But we've lost a player who had a good passing range, was comfortable against a press, could tackle and (crucially) had enough speed to make effective recovery runs, especially when he had to cover for two attacking full-backs.

When you have a player like Skipp, you can afford two very attack-minded full-backs. But without him, everything suddenly looks very loose.
