Even if true, that's very different circumstances. That's a classic Robert Chase move. Give the evaluation, Man Utd agree too easily and he tries to squeeze an extra 100k out of it at the risk of killing the deal. I'd say Bruce was in his right to do that if the initial fee had indeed been agreed.
