I don't think Webber is particularly skilled when it comes to understanding

the financial side of things. He still goes on today about what a financial mess the club was in when he took over, how it could have gone into administration.

Which it couldn't, because it was sitting on tens of millions of pounds of assets in the playing squad. Some of which were sold and which immediately balanced the books.

He's either very disingenuous when it comes to accounting and finances, or he just doesn't really understand it. I used to think it was the former, and that he was spinning things as part of self-promotion. Now I think that he just doesn't get it. And I suppose nor should he really, he has no real educational background in finances, and his role is basically that of a head scout, more than a real CEO.
