I linked to a Conor Southwell interview in article further up the board about Gassan Ahadme where he explicitly states if they're too good for u23 they go out on loan (I guess if not ready for first team).

Feels like Omobamidele improved well ahead of that schedule over the course of a year and was in a good spot of for all when injuries struck
