But though it's a massive PITA, fact is I must have been close enough to someone who's tested positive for that to happen. I could not isolate, and then risk passing it on asymptomatically to someone more vulnerable (like my Mum, who is Really Quite Old now, even though like me she's double-jabbed) and I'd never have known. But I felt the responsible thing to do was break the chain of infection, if I had been infected at all (all tests came back negative, though all were lateral flow only). So that's what I did. It is a massive PITA but better than actually playing a part, however unwitting and unintentional, in someone else's serious illness or death, at least in my book. I have - had - a friend who died of covid; a couple of friends who've had it twice, at least three now with long covid which is seriously nasty though very unlikely to be fatal. So I do take this stuff seriously.
