10 days (or less depending on date of contact) isolation is advisory - not compulsory

So depending on the contact you had that caused the ping maybe you spent 10 days at home thinking you legally had to isolate when that wasn't the case (though clearly you did the right thing).

However, if there is a more direct contact such as a family member going down with the virus then quite likely Test and Trace will contact you and then the 10 days isolation does become a legal thing with potentially a 1K fine if breached.
