The tactics worked well, but I'm not sure I can agree that it was some kind of tactical masterclass.
When it comes down to it, we won because we took the chances when they came and Germany did not. Other than that, there was nothing really between the two sides, and this wasn't a tremendously strong German side.
However, I agree with you entirely that Southgate has a plan and we are executing it. Does this plan result in the best, most effective England side that is possible with the players available? That's a question that is impossible to answer, but by delivering results Southgate shuts down any critics.
