The big complication (I think) is Chelsea need or want him to sign a new contract first

He's only got 2 years left so a season loan puts him at one.

Its the sort of thing I expect we'd do in a way but a bit more sinister as they aren't great at progressing players through.

For e.g. If Todd hadnt signed a new contract ahead of the Prem season where would he be now?
