It's their tournaments, they get to decide where they're played.

All that we (fans) can do is make our feelings known if we think they make the wrong decision. Accordingly, if the final was moved to Budapest then I would expect vocal opposition to this (possibly from players, national associations etc too) because of the Hungarian govt's stance of LGBT issues.

I'm not entirely sure where you're are coming from on this, it seems a bit like you are just trying to pick an argument for the sake of it. That's not my intention though, I was simply sharing an article which reflects my opinion that it is wrong to 'reward' countries (such as Hungary) with showcase sporting events when their state position on issues (whether LGBT, racism, etc) is so misaligned with what we generally hold to be fair and appropriate
