Taking the knee predates BLM

It has been used as an anti-racism protest gesture in the US since the 1960s, albeit not that often until the last few years, Colin Kapernick etc

The gesture itself is about fighting racial inequality. Some of the campaign movements that use it may have certain political affiliations but the gesture itself and the use of it has never been about supporting a political ideology.

England players and other sports people are perfectly in their rights to do it and should be applauded for doing so. They’re not showing support for Marxism, whatever certain commentators and journalists will tell you.
