Christ Jim, one would of thought after 4 years you would of got to grips with the model

We were lucky to hold on to him last year, it's a generally good deal all round...

We have sold a good asset at a good price and in return we have a larger budget to get replacements in.

Whether you agree or don't agree with the self funding model is irrelevant. That is the model this club is working with. We cannot compete in the Premier league regardless whether we hold on to our best players or not. At least with the money we can look to increasing the depth of the squad which is exactly what killed us last time round
