Had similar a couple of years ago when selling a laptop.

Half a dozen of the same type of message asking if I can do an elaborate PayPal scheme and pay for a courier which I think they’d then be able to claim when it “never turns up”.

I always insist on payment on collection for Gumtree. They soon disappear.
