I think there are some misconceptions about our kits that needs some clearing up.
First of all, as has been reported, we are changing kit manufacturers. This has been coming for a while as, to my understanding, the club haven't been overly pleased with the quality of the kits. For example, the the stitching, then glue on the crests not being properly applied. Additionally, there have been problems behind the scenes which people may not be aware of. On several occasions the club has recieved kit shipments around a month late. This is one of the reasons why the club shop has sometimes run out of shirts midway through the season. So I was always under the impression that the contract would not be renewed.
Whilst the quality of the kits is the manufacturers responsibility, Norwich have control over the design. As I understand it, a number of different designs are created and then reviewed with Delia and Michael giving feedback and requests. I've heard that Michael and Delia prefer more vibrant designs à la the lime green third kit and red away kit we have had in previous seasons.
I've heard/seen quite a few people moaning about us going with supposedly "smaller brands". Some people claim this is the cheaper option. This is not true. Most larger manufacturers produce template or teamwear kits for all but the biggest clubs they supply. This is why many kits made by Nike or Adidas look like colour swapped versions of each other. Even if that wasn't the case for us, larger brands use in house design teams and do not give clubs the same level of control over the design process. Smaller manufacturers are much more likely to give clubs more say in the process.
So TL;DR - The club aren't going for the cheap option when picking a manufacturer. Whilst I'm certain this is considered. they are trying to provide us fans with interesting and different kits. If you think they succeed or fail in that, that's your opinion, which you are perfectly entitled to.
