Where this seasons budget comes from I think is a Athletic article that basically says this years budget will be triple the last one (which was stated as £10m) so would be £30 million PLUS whatever we choose to use from any future sales.

Gibson and Giannoulis (and Skipp and Sorensen and Soto etc) was all last years money. It's likely the Godfrey and Lewis money was used for all that plus plugging the covid hole.

Bailey certainly seems to be describing the Prem budget as a discrete pot of money that starts at £30m. So I guess if none of the big boys move we'll only be able to buy 3 players at £10m ish.

Thats a problem because we probably need 5 or 6 players and selling at least 1 of Max or Buendia covers that.

Thats my understanding based on words I've read from The Athletic.
