Villa would be the wrong move for him, imho

They're a bigger club than us but not bigger enough. He needs to be looking at pushing for a start at a top, top club somewhere and he's good enough to get that. If it doesn't happen this summer then he should stay with us (where he's guaranteed to start every game in the biggest shop window on the planet) for the time being. He's never been more prominent/visible and it's understandable if he wants to use that to leverage something somewhere which offers opportunities we're not going to be able to offer, like Champions League. Villa can't do that, though; they're a bad season away from relegation to the chumpionship like the rest of us. Obviously they would want him, but honestly even with yellow and green glasses off I think it would be a poor career decision for him to go there.
