wife's cousin works with kids with severe eating disorders

and has seen a huge increase over the last few years and is convinced it is (its mainly girls but boys are becoming more and more affected) due a lot to young impressionable people constantly craving validation on social media platforms almost every hour of the day. (thankfully my kids grew up pretty much before smartphones so we never had to worry about it)

also nowadays a lot of young parents with small kids are constantly locked into their smartphones frankly doing no parenting at all. saw a mum the a few weeks ago with two kids and one of the little ones was about 25 metres behind the mum (who had missile lock on her smart phone) and the little girl was crying as her flip flop had blown a gasket and she was calling for her mum as her foot was bleeding. the mum was oblivious. good luck with your life kid.
