No, that’s not my point. Been reading about all the elite ESL (fukkers) clubs and how they’re all massively in debt, borrowing to pay wages, telling managers they’ll have no money to spend and how they’re going to look to reduce the wage bill this summer.

Could this end up being a right old slow summer, as few of the big boys will be spending big? Players on fat contracts won’t move on unless there’s another fat one waiting, but not many clubs offering that to second string talent from arsenal?

All the usual “slams shut” newsmongers are busy spinning stories, but I wonder if we might keep a few more of the Crown Jewels than people think.

(Not that I’m massively bothered. I just find myself on the train into London for the first time in a year, and had to do something didn’t I?!)
