When you KNEW we'd win?
Was v. confident when it was certain that Todd, Emi and Max were staying. Lost my s**t at the start of the injury crisis, but when it was evident we were still able to win matches without any goalkeepers, are top scorer, players playing out of position and youth players coming in to the first XI, it felt like there was nothing that could stop this squad.
Best goal(s)/bit of skill(s)?
Tettey's Cruyff turn
Most concerning moment(s)?
Losing all our keepers and pukki and centre backs to injuries
Silliest moment(s)?
The Brentford Love In
Any random thoughts about the season?
What a blessing relegation was last year (in hindsight). To watch us win matches and play when you're stuck at home have been a rare bit of enjoyment. The end of the Prem last season when we were losing was so depressing to watch. Having to watch another relegation scrap in lockdown
would have been miserable.
Thoughts about next season?
Positive, we had s**tty luck with injuries and decisions and last minute goals pre-covid. We played well in a lot of games and matched and bettered teams often times but did't get the points, due to bad luck or a leaky defence which we never fixed. Then the crowds went and there was no chance to overcome the deficit. Players are more experienced and better now, the defence is more solid now. I do fear relegation a lot more this time round as I can't see us being able to hold on to the squad and management team if we go back to the champs again.
