I thought he said that if the club wasn't ready for him to go, he'd stay on, he wouldn't leave the club in the lurch.

But my understanding was that part of his thing is to ensure there's always a successor ready whenever anyone leaves, in the playing staff or non-playing staff. As such, he'll be off next summer unless there is some big change.

Maybe he's hedging his bets a bit because, as he says, it might not be possible to easily move overseas next year!
