One thing that’s helped me lose quite a lot of weight (nearly 2 stones now) was not cutting out meat (though I did cut down on red meat, and steer clear of processed meat) but radically reducing sugar intake (and all added sugar where possible) and completely abandoning starchy carbs while cutting down others (so no bread, cereal, spuds, grains etc). Admittedly this is a very hardcore diet and the sugar/crab withdrawal symptoms were bad for the first few weeks, but I do feel miles better.
Admittedly, this is a drastic diet/nutritional regime that doesn’t suit everyone. I tried it because I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and needed to lose quite a bit of weight (which combined with a big increase in activity and exercise should drive down my blood sugar level to safer levels) but there are plenty of other less hardcore ways to change your diet and lose weight. Good luck with your endeavours - it can be hard work but ultimately it is worth it for the health benefits
