Be as kind to yourself as you would be to someone else in your position

Give yourself time and space, and don't feel there's a Standard Model Of Grief you need to fall into or norms you need to satisfy. Just react as you react and give yourself room to do that, and be understanding with yourself. You don't grow past a big loss like that, you grow round it; it never goes away but it does get better with time. Sometimes I won't think of my Dad for days and sometimes he'll just pop into my head. He died four years ago. Big hugs Andy x
