Under John Bond we competed

on a level with the big clubs. I remember playing Liverpool when the headlines were "no doubt another stalemate" which was huge respect for us at that time. Also a great run beating Everton & Villa at home and drawing 4-4 at Burnley away scoring 13 goals in the process (and conceding 9 - yes 9 but not at 8.30). Super Mac two hat tricks in the two home games as well. Wonderful all out attacking with Martin Peters pulling the strings in midfield. My favourite times. Yes this current side is the most skillful individually and the team has an identity again but for excitement take me back to the 70s...also loved terraces and all that went with it.
