I`m a Worthy Outer, as a fan of 24 i`ve only really experienced proper glory a few times, for the Milk Cup i was a bit young so will disregard that but beating munich, getting to the playoffs and getting promoted.
Now lets be fair, Worthington was in charge for two of those fantastic periods of my life, however its his tactical frailties in the past two seasons that for me has overshadowed everything he had previously achieved.
maybe its just me, but i seem to have very different opinions to words such as versatile to Nigel. What he tells me/us is versatile is what i would call s**t!
How is Andy Hughes versatile? because where ever Nigel plays him in the team he can do the same s**t job?
I see versatility as someone who can dig their heels in and grit out a game, can receive the ball in a difficult situation but still come out better off and then play a simple pass to a better placed colleague, can also skin 5 men before belting a ball into the net, or if asked to play on the wing can cross the ball accurately enough to provide the striker with the slightest of tasks to score. Versatile for me is beckham in his Man Utd days, ask him to play on the wing, behind the front two or dig his heels in you got the same overall performance. In fairness to Mr Hughes he does keep the same level of performance, he is consistantly s**t!
Before anyone starts telling me i`m a fickle fan, i was there when we got thumped at fulham, i was there when Nigel first kept us up after the Hamilton regime, i was there when we went down previously. So i`m still here, is that fickle??
I used to enjoy going to the footy, to watch attractive football that kept me entertained. Yes i`m passionate about the team and yes it was nice to win today but lets face it, it was s**t!!
I now only go to the footy for the social aspect!
