The young FIFA generation will watch the ESL because that's where the big stars will be.

Current PL money is so big because of its global appeal, and 95% of those overseas watchers will support one of the SL clubs (if you are going to pick a team from scratch you're almost certainly going to pick one that has a reasonable chance of winning something). They won't stick with the PL (unless maybe those clubs are still in it)
