it's brilliant

i've seen that place a hundred times or more and never had a clue. my father in law (lives nearby us) always refers to that road as "airforce lane" even though it has another name and he didn't know about the decoy bunker (he moved here in the 70s out of the city so must have picked this up from the old boys). it has a blast wall in front of the entrance and an ops room and a dayroom with a chimney over where a stove once would have been and an escape hatch. everything has been stripped out but incredibly the internal doors are still there. amazing to think how many lives were saved by these all over the east of england.
